This is my first post about delicious restaurants, and I'm going to introduce my favorite one in my neighborhood!! It's a home-style Italian restaurant called Runico, and I go there about twice a month because it has a clean yet casual atmosphere and the food is delicious!!

As you can see on the map, there's a street called Yeoljeong-ro where many young people have opened restaurants, so it's a popular spot for good food. Right next to Runico is Yasunoya Jiro (Jingisukan lamb, super popular and hard to make a reservation), and diagonally across from Runico is Ichizu (Japanese shabu-shabu). Both are incredibly delicious, and I go there often, so I'll write about them if I get the chance.

Location

Runico 1F, 11, Wonhyoro 80-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. What I love most is that the dishes change and improve slightly each time I visit, and I'm always surprised! I always enjoy the delicate flavors and excellent service, which makes me love it even more.

It's convenient for me since I live nearby, but one downside is parking. There's a small public parking lot under the nearby bridge! (The turnover rate is fast!)

Except for Fridays, I don't remember waiting very often. Many local residents come, as well as people from other areas, and it's a popular spot with foreigners who often come to eat alone! (As a local resident, I'm sad that it's closed on Sundays.) The interior is small, so I recommend making a reservation if you're coming from far away.

Menu

Every dish is delicious, but the bottarga pasta (with uni added) is a unique dish that you can only enjoy here, so I always order that and add a steak or an appetizer and another pasta dish. I also love it because it's not too expensive.

I'm very picky with fish and only eat tuna belly and flounder fin because I'm not good with fishy flavors. But this dish has no fishy taste at all, and the rich flavors of bottarga and uni make me so happy every time I eat it.

It looks prettier before you mix it. Among the appetizers, Melanzane!! I dislike eggplant, but this one is so delicious. I often order it because of its unique bitter and pungent taste! It pairs well with white wine. Salad! I'm a meat-lover, so I don't like salads, but I enjoy the salad here!!

I order it once a year, and the salad changes each time, so it seems like the salad changes about once a year. Steak! There are potatoes on the side, and sometimes there are herbs on top, and sometimes there aren't! It's a fantastic steak for under 50,000 won, so I usually order it with the bottarga pasta.

Among the appetizers, bruschetta is a dish I often order when I want something clean and refreshing, but it's a dish that makes me crave more. I usually eat bland food, so it's a bit salty for my taste, but among the pasta dishes I've tried, the oxtail ragu pasta is the most delicious!

If you're craving a comfortable Italian restaurant, I highly recommend Runico!!!
